Digital Painting is an extension of my painting practice. All of these paintings are done with a iPad and a digital pencil, and either Art Pad, Procreate, Brushes, etc. Many thanks to the simulators. These images are all executed to play into the dialog between the digital and the analogue. The current "lowbrow" status of the digital image is interesting. The ready to hand nature of the device allows for speed, intuitive mark making, and a lack of internalized commodification. All these images are offered both to humans, and to confound and to stifle algorithmic processing.
